Deep Green Global Training was a two-day leadership conference by and for high school activists.
Deep Green started in 1994 as the Enviro Zest Fest, and was renamed in 1995. A powerful aspect of the event was that it was entirely organized by the teens in the BAA Schools Group, for other regional high school students. They chose the topics, books speakers and hands-on activities, booked the venues, and handled publicity. A few of the adult members of BAA helped with things like registration payments and guided the Schoolies on how to do publicity, but Deep Green was very much a student-led event. It lasted from 1994 to 2004, into the Acterra years.
There were many speakers and topics; we hope to archive all the info here over time.
The precursors to Deep Green were the Enviro Zest Fest and Youth Environmental Summit. (More on those as we unearth info from the BAA Archives)
